Ahem Ahem, I'm going on a trip again 😅
Relationships, What's happening in my life lately, and Deets about my latest vacayy
Weekends and Outings ✨
I went out with my Gang last week—the first time we met after Bengaluru.
If you’ve read previous issues of Vikra’s Café, I need not tell you specifically what great fun it is for all of us to get under one roof. Last week was no different.
We met for lunch, had some fun convos, attended a standup show (occupied the first row and got roasted 👍🏻), and then grabbed dinner.
I like love how spending (even a little) time with the right people can reset your mood and energy for the entire week. In fact, I’m starting to feel better every time I meet these folks. Touchwood.
Impactful Relationships
I was reading Unposted Letter by Mahātria Rā and found a particular line about relationships interesting.
He said, and I quote
"If you are happy in life right now, it's not because everything about your life is necessarily going great, but because a relationship that really matters to you the most is going great."
The converse is also true.
If you're unhappy despite most things going right, it might be due to tremors in the relationship that matter most to you.
It got me thinking,
"Yes, we are social animals, and relationships are a big part of our lives. But how do we find that one beautiful relationship that really 'matters' to us?"
The introspection:
Honestly, I feel it's more about nurturing existing relationships than trying to find new ones.
Of course, new bonds are necessary, but here is what I mean.
What new has to come in life will come at some point, but what we already have will only stay if we put collective efforts into nurturing the bond.
In relationships, the more value, care, time, and respect both people give, the stronger the bond gets. I highlighted GIVE because relationships form on conscious efforts. It's foolish to expect things to get (or be) right without effort.
You need to make things happen with actions—with the amount and quality of time you spend, how you prioritize the other person, how you support their growth, how you show (and tell) you love them, and a thousand other things.
When I thought about it, I felt what you CONSCIOUSLY do about your relationships will help you find (or keep) that one special relationship.
There is no defined framework, but if you’re interested in what I do:
It's about making myself worthy of a relationship I aspire to be in. (This is a topic in itself and will write a separate issue addressing this)
Then nurture the bond with all my heart and CONSCIOUS EFFORTS.
Lastly, I decide if I want to continue based on the compatibility formed and reciprocation I get.
My Next Holidayy!!!
I am leaving for Goa with a friend tomorrow—The trip we have been dreaming of for years. Honestly, I didn’t expect it to happen this soon.
It’s a four-day trip. And I’m excited like crazyy!
The next issue will most probably be about my experiences in Goa. So gear up to read another travel blog. 🤌🏻✨
I have a flight in 12 hours. So let me go and start packing my bag. I hate the packing part of travel. I always wish someone could do it for me. 🌚
Ok byeeee.
See ya next week. 🌴
Happy travels!! ❤️
I totally agree with the relationships quote from Unposted Letter. :)
